The American Buffalo is a pure bullion coin produced by the Untied States Mint. Introduced in 2006, this was the first pure bullion coin offered to the public from the US Mint. Since then, it has experienced growing popularity and is now recognized internationally as a compliment to the American Gold Eagle bullion coin.

This coin features a design based on the iconic Indian Head nickel, and displays a Native American head on the obverse, with the namesake Buffalo on the reverse.
